The Portugal News The quality of tap water in Portugal remains high, with leveis “dose to perfection” at 98.4 percent and a “very low” frequency of infringe ments, according to the water quality depart- ment at the regulatory authority, ERSAR. “We continue to be able to drink tap water in Portugal without worrying about it and, although we’re already at leveis that are very close to perfection, the safe water indicator once more rose a little, from 98.2 percent in 2013 to 98.4 percent in 2014,” said Luís Simas, the departmenfs director.Simas was speaking as he presented ERSAR’s annual re- port on water quality, which wasreleased on WednesdayOn the percentage of fulfilment of the mini- mum frequency of samples to be sub- mitted for testing, this was in line with the trend of previ- ous years, and was at 99.9 percent last year.TPN/Lusa
